Golkar And PKS Agree: Cabinet Reshuffle Affairs Are Completely Presidential Authority

JAKARTA - General Chairperson of the Golkar Party DPP Bahlil Lahadalia said that his party handed over the cabinet reshuffle decision to Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.

"The cabinet business is the President's business. We should not take part that is not our right because it is the prerogative of the President," Bahlil said when met by the Golkar Party DPP Office, Slipi, West Jakarta, Friday, June 6.

According to him, Prabowo has the right to replace the ranks of ministers in order to create a cabinet structure that can support the government.

Bahlil, who also serves as Minister of Energy, My Source of Mineral (ESDM), is reluctant to comment further regarding the issue of the reshuffle.

Previously, the President of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Al Muzammil Yusuf also expressed the same opinion as Bahlil.

Al Muzammil said that the reshuffle was President Prabowo's prerogative for the creation of a good cabinet.

"Talking about the reshuffle, I think the first is the prerogative of the President. All parties must respect it. It is guaranteed by the Basic Law, by law," said Muzammil at the PKS DPP Office, South Jakarta, Thursday (5/6).

He also added that the President would certainly evaluate the performance of ministers in his cabinet.

The ministers are implementers of the programs prepared by President Prabowo so that the success of the Presidential government is of course very dependent on the performance of its ministers.

"The president can evaluate who his ministers are good or who are not good, who are replaced and others. We fully respect the prerogative of the President," he said.
