COVID-19 Cases Appear Again, DKI Waits For Official Policy From The Ministry Of Health
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that he was still waiting for directions from the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) regarding the development of COVID-19 cases in the Jakarta area.
"COVID-19 is the business of the Minister of Health," said Pramono after inaugurating the Transjabodetabek service on the Bogor Blok M route at Blok M Terminal, Jakarta, Thursday, June 6.
Pramono also fully submitted a decision regarding the policy of using masks, including for public transportation passengers, to the Ministry of Health.
Previously, the East Jakarta City Government reported two positive cases of COVID-19 in May 2025. The two residents came from Cipayung and Cakung sub-districts, and were declared cured at the end of May.
Meanwhile, South Jakarta recorded 15 positive cases of COVID-19 throughout 2025, based on data from the Ministry of Health's New All Record (NAR) system.
In response to this situation, the Ministry of Health has issued a Circular (SE) to increase awareness of COVID-19 and other potential outbreaks. This step was taken following the increase in COVID-19 cases in a number of Asian countries.
