Eid Al-Adha 2025 Wet, BMKG Predicts Light Rain In Various Regions

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that light rain will flush most of Indonesia's territory to coincide with the celebration of Eid al-Adha, Friday, June 6, for that people who carry out Eid prayers are advised to provide umbrellas.

BMKG forecaster Ranti Kurniati was quoted by ANTARA Jakarta as saying on the island of Sumatra, the weather is predicted to be foggy in the Padang area and thick cloudy in Banda Aceh.

Light rain is predicted to occur in Medan and Pekanbaru, as well as be aware of thunderstorms that can occur in the Tanjung Pinang area, Ranti said Friday morning.

Heavy cloudy weather has the potential to occur in Palembang, while light rain is predicted to occur in Bengkulu, Pangkal Pinang, and Bandar Lampung.

"Be aware of thunderstorms that have the potential to occur in the Jambi area," he said.

On the island of Java, fog air has the potential to occur in the city of Surabaya, while the cities of Jakarta, Semarang, and Yogyakarta have the potential for light rain.

"The city of Serang is predicted to rain with moderate intensity, and be aware of rain that can be accompanied by lightning in the Bandung area," he said.

In Bali and Nusa Tenggara, cloudy weather has the potential to occur in Denpasar and Kupang, while Mataram is forecasted to be thick cloudy.

On the island of Kalimantan, the weather is predicted to be cloudy in Palangkaraya and Banjarmasin, while Samarinda City has the potential to be thick cloudy.

"Light rain is predicted to occur in Pontianak, and be aware of thunderstorms that can occur in the Tanjung Selor area," he said.

On the island of Sulawesi, fog has the potential to occur in Palu City, thick cloudy in Makassar and Manado, as well as light rain in the Mamuju, Kendari, and Gorontalo areas.

In eastern Indonesia, thick cloudy weather has the potential to occur in the Ternate area, while the cities of Ambon, Sorong, Manokwari, Nabire, Jayawijaya, Jayapura, and Merauke are forecasted to rain with light intensity.

The public is also asked to be aware of the potential for waves of 2.5 to 4 meters in the Indian Ocean west of Bengkulu to Lampung, the southern part of the Sunda Strait, the southern Indian Ocean of Banten, to West Java.
