Lawyer Hasto Highlights KPK Investigative Report Considered Opportunities For Investigation: Too Much
JAKARTA - Hasto Kristiyanto's attorney, Ronny Talapessy, highlighted the steps to report Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators to the Supervisory Board (Dewas) to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police which was considered an effort to challenge the investigation.
The legal step referred to as the obstruction of the investigation was contained in the Investigation Report (BAP) of Muhammad Fatahillah Akbar, who is a criminal law expert from the public prosecutor (JPU) at the trial of the alleged bribery case of interim replacement (PAW) members of the DPR and the obstruction of the investigation with the defendant Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto.
"I want to convey something that I think is strange and odd in the BAP of an expert brother named Muhammad Fatahillah Akbar," said Ronny on the sidelines of the trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Thursday, June 5.
According to him, if the use of the legal right is considered a form of obstruction to the investigation, then it is a form of deviation that endangers the justice system.
"If we, in this case, use our legal rights to report investigators who we think work unprofessionally, to the KPK Council, Bareskrim, then take legal action, conduct press conferences, are considered to hinder investigations, in my opinion this is outrageous," said Ronny.
Ronny also emphasized that his party's report had been received and currently the KPK Council is still investigating allegations of ethical violations by one of the KPK investigators named Rossa Purbo Bekti.
"What does that mean, friends? If we use the law like this, we run it like this, we don't succeed as a state of law," he said.

The reason is that this is related to the work of journalists in reporting the development of cases based on information from law enforcers and parties involved.
If we use our legal rights then considered as an obstruction to the investigation, it is very dangerous. Moreover, media friends when reporting, reporting, then considered an obstruction to the investigation. Are you in agreement or not? No, right. This will harm everyone," said Ronny.
It is known that KPK investigators who had been reported to the KPK Council and Bareskrik Polri, namely AKBP Rossa Purbo Bekti. The report was made because it was considered to have violated the rules in case handling.
