Findings Of Methamphetamine In The Masalembo Sea Increase By 3 Kilograms
SUMENEP - Evidence of findings of methamphetamine in the sea of the Masalembo Islands by fishermen increased by 3 kilograms from the previous 35 kilograms to 38 kilograms.
Head of Public Relations of the Sumenep Police, AKP Widiarti, explained that the addition of the findings of methamphetamine was after the submission from the Sumenep Police to the East Java Regional Police.
"So, after the handover was made, three islanders who handed over had found methamphetamine-type drugs to the Masalembo Police," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 4.
He said, initially there was one resident who came to the Masalembo Police Station and handed over 1 kilogram of methamphetamine, and the next day 2 kilograms by two residents.
Thus, continued Widi, the total additional evidence of methamphetamine found in the Masalembo sea increased by 3 kilograms.
"Currently, the additional evidence is at the Sumenep Police Headquarters and we will hand it over to the East Java Regional Police," he said.
Widi appreciated the proactive steps taken by residents who found the methamphetamine drug and handed it over to the police.
"This shows that public awareness is very high. We continue to urge that if suspicious items are found, they should be immediately reported to the authorities," he said.
