Gibran's Impeachment Proposal Letter Received By DPR, Golkar: There Has Been No Violation Of Any Law
JAKARTA - The letter of proposal for impeachment of Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka sent by the TNI Retired Forum has been officially received by the DPR.
Golkar Party Secretary Sarmuji said the impeachment proposal was legally proposed by every citizen.
"Yes, the name is a proposal, it's okay, the right of citizens," said Sarmuji, Wednesday, June 4.
However, Sarmuji emphasized that the impeachment of the president or vice president can only be done if it meets the requirements as stipulated in the law. He also emphasized that until now there has been no violation of any law committed by the Vice President.
"But of course, to be able to impeach the vice president or president, there are conditions that are regulated in the constitution. The conditions stipulated by the constitution if they violate the law, that is also in certain matters, which have been specifically stated," explained Sarmuji.
"For the Vice President, until now there has been no violation of any law as stated in the constitution, which could cause Mas Gibran to be impeached," he said.

Sarmuji believes that the proposal will not be approved by the DPR RI. Moreover, 2/3 members of the DPR were needed to attend the plenary meeting when the approval of the impeachment proposal was in accordance with the rules of Article 7A of the 1945 Constitution.
"The DPR makes rules. The seller makes the rules automatically if you do something or don't do something, it's based on the rules," he concluded.
