The Peak Of Hajj Begins, The Speaker Of The House Of Representatives Reminds Hajj Organizers To Give The Best Services For Congregations
JAKARTA - DPR Speaker Puan Maharani reminded Hajj Organizing Officers (PPIH) to increase readiness and vigilance ahead of the peak of the 1446 H/2025 M Hajj pilgrimage which will take place in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina (Armuzna).
He emphasized the importance of the Government ensuring that Indonesian pilgrims can carry out worship in the Holy Land properly and comfortably.
Puan expressed her high appreciation to all Indonesian pilgrims who have undergone a series of worship in an orderly manner. As well as to Hajj officers who with full dedication continue to provide the best service during the implementation of the pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.
"The implementation of the hajj so far has been quite good, so it must be maintained at the peak of the hajj. Make sure the congregation gets the best service. For the elderly, special treatment must be considered," said Puan Maharani, Wednesday, June 4.
The peak of this year's pilgrimage starts on 9 Zulhijah or June 5 tomorrow. This is where the most sacred moment in the series of Hajj services takes place, starting with wukuf in Arafah, followed by abit in Muzdalifah, and spending the night in Mina for later taut jumrah.
Puan hopes that all the things needed during the peak of the hajj have been fully prepared, including the mabit tent.
"The peak momentum of Hajj is the most crucial phase, both spiritually and physically, especially given the extreme weather and high density," said Puan.
In order for the implementation of this year's Hajj to be perfect and zero problems, Puan also emphasized several important things. Starting from, the mitigation of the health of the congregation which must be a top priority, adaptation to the new multi-sarikah system and evaluation for future improvements.
Puan asked all Hajj officers, especially the health team, to immediately map out vulnerable pilgrims, including the elderly, congregants with comorbidities, and those who experienced a decline in fitness. According to him, early mitigation and proactive approaches must be carried out to prevent extreme fatigue, dehydration, to heatstroke which is often a threat in Armuzna.
"We also advise all Indonesian pilgrims to maintain personal health, not to force themselves if they are not in top condition, and to comply with directions and guidelines from health workers and worship guides," said Puan.
To note, this year the Government of Saudi Arabia implemented a new system in Hajj services, namely multi-Sharia, where the organization of pilgrims while in Armuzna was no longer based on the cluster, but was arranged in a procession by the sharia in collaboration with PPIH.
According to Puan, this new system requires more intensive coordination and high flexibility from Indonesian officers in the field. Therefore, Puan encourages every officer to understand the flow changes and roles carefully, especially because the task of the group is only up to the Murur preparation period.
"PPIH can ensure the congregation's data, including those who will carry out the Murur, to be submitted accurately and on time to the sharia. This is to prevent disinformation or targeted congregations," he explained.
"Congregants also need to be given a transparent explanation regarding the digestive system so that there is no confusion during worship," continued Puan.
On the other hand, Puan views that the implementation of multi-Sharia is a challenge as well as an opportunity to improve the quality of the Hajj service. "All forms of adjustment must be evaluated in depth after the implementation of this year's Hajj," he said.
Puan said that the DPR would ask for a complete report from the Ministry of Religion and related partners, including from PPIH elements and field officers, as the basis for formulating future Hajj policies. In the implementation of the pilgrimage, the DPR has also sent a Supervisory Team to ensure that services for Indonesian pilgrims run well.
Various evaluations have also been given by the DPR's Hajjwas Team in anticipation of obstacles during the process of implementing the Hajj. The DPR is committed to ensuring that all pilgrims can carry out the pilgrimage as well as possible," explained Puan.

Regarding the thousands of prospective furoda pilgrims who failed to leave for the Holy Land because their visas were not issued, Puan stated that the DPR would participate in overseeing the issue.
"The matter of furoda hajj is indeed the prerogative of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia," said Puan.
Even so, Puan stated that the DPR is committed to ensuring that the implementation of the pilgrimage is more quality, accountable, and in favor of the congregation.
"We will ask the relevant commission, namely Commission VIII of the DPR, to oversee this issue. We will ensure that all parties receive protection, both from the congregation and the travel entrepreneurs who are harmed," he explained.
Meanwhile, to all Indonesian pilgrims in the Holy Land, Puan advised to always be vigilant, maintain health and worship safely and comfortably.
"Hopefully all Indonesian pilgrims can undergo the peak of the pilgrimage solemnly, healthily, and safely. We pray that all worships are accepted by Allah SWT and the pilgrims return to their homeland in a state of harmony and safety," said Puan.
