Atletico Madrid Updates Antoine Griezmann's Contract Until 2027
Antoine Griezmann has signed a one-year contract extension at Atletico Madrid which will keep him at Metropolitano until June 30, 2027.
The 34-year-old forward is the top scorer in Atletico's history with 197 goals. He has spent nine seasons with Los Rojiblancos - more than two terms - since joining in 2014.
ESPN reported in March 202 that Griezmann is likely to stay at Atletico this summer even though he has long been interested in playing in MLS (Major League Soccer).
The player's contract that helped France win the 2018 World Cup will previously expire in June 2026.

The extension will allow Atletico to disseminate Griezmann's salary package fees for two years, which will benefit the club in terms of budgeting limits for the La Liga squad.
Griezmann scored eight goals in 38 league appearances this season, when Atletico finished third in La Liga, and totaled 16 goals in all competitions.
He is now facing stiff competition for a place in the team this season, after Atletico recruited Julian Alvarez and Alexander Sorloth last summer.
He has spoken openly about his desire to play in MLS in the future, calling it the goal of ending his career there because of his love for sports in the United States.
Griezmann has won the Europa League, UEFA Super Cup, and Spanish Super Cup with Atletico, but has yet to win La Liga or Champions League.
He spent five seasons at Atletico between 2014 and 2019, followed by two uncertain years at Barcelona, before returning to Atletico.
