PT PLN (Persero) is ready to cooperate with the private sector to implement the 2025-2034 PLN Electricity Supply Business Plan (RUPTL), a roadmap for the development of the national electricity system for the next 10 years.
"We are ready to carry out the direction of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Mr. Bahlil Lahadalia, in the success of the 2025-2034 PLN RUPTL by synergizing with the private sector for the development of power plants," said PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo quoting Antara.
Darmawan added that collaboration between PLN and the private sector is the key in realizing sustainable energy targets as stated in the RUPTL.
"This is a form of joint collaboration not only in creating national energy sovereignty but also supporting economic growth," said Darmawan.
The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) officially announced the 2025-2034 Electric Power Supply Business Plan (RUPTL) owned by PT PLN (Persero) on Monday (26/5).
This strategic document was prepared as a roadmap for developing the national electricity system for the next 10 years, as well as opening up massive private investment opportunities in the electricity sector.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia stated that until 2034, the electricity project to be built was in the form of a generator with a total capacity of 69.5 gigawatts (GW).
This project will be supported by the Independent Power Producer (IPP) role which accounts for 73 percent of the total value of the generating project or around 50.7 GW. The investment value of this private party reached IDR 1,566.1 trillion from the total investment of IDR 2,133.7 trillion.

"Investment (generating) is more than Rp. 2,000 trillion. The IPP is Rp. 1,566.1 trillion (or around 73 percent), this is what is being watched out for," said Bahlil.
Bahlil emphasized that all of this development remains under the control of PLN through the EPC implementation scheme (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction). All authority in project planning and management is fully in the hands of PLN.
"Even though PLN will also tender it, who is the EPC, but this domain is all with PLN," he said.
