This Morning, Two RTs In Pluit Penjaringan Were Submerged By The Rob Flood

JAKARTA - Two locations of Neighborhood Units (RT) in Pluit Village, Penjaringan District, North Jakarta, were flooded by tidal floods or coastal flooding on Friday morning.

"The latest information on puddles until 06.00 WIB is that there are still two RTs that are flooded," said Head of the Disaster Information Data Center (Pusdatin) of the Regional Disaster Management Agency of the DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Mohammad Yohan in Jakarta.

He said the water level due to the tidal flood submerged the area as high as 25 to 55 centimeters.

BPBD DKI Jakarta mobilizes personnel to monitor inundation conditions in each region and coordinate elements of the Water Resources Service (SDA), the Highways Office and the Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) to extract puddles and ensure that water lines function properly together with local village heads and sub-district heads.

"The inundation is targeted to recede in a short time," he said.

Previously, one RT in Pluit Village and one road section on Jalan RE Martadinata Papanggo Tanjung Priok were also affected by tidal flooding but this morning the water had receded.

BPBD DKI appealed to the public to remain careful and alert to potential inundation.

"In an emergency, immediately call telephone number 112 which is free and operates for 24 hours non-stop," he said.

Head of RW 22 Pluit Village, Bani said the tidal flood came on Thursday night to the Muara Angke area.

"This tidal flood has exacerbated the rain that hit North Jakarta for three hours on Thursday night. So the water level has increased," he said.

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has issued an early warning for coastal flooding or tidal flooding on May 24-31, 2025.

This tidal flood is predicted to occur due to the Super New Moon phenomenon or the phase of the moon perigee and the new moon which has the potential to increase the maximum sea level in the form of tidal flooding in the northern coastal area of Jakarta.
