Cabinet Cabinet Secretary Lt. Col. Teddy Express President Prabowo's Closeness To French President Emmanuel Macron At Borobudur Temple

JAKARTA - Cabinet Secretary Lt. Col. Teddy Indra Wijaya revealed the moment of closeness of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and French President Emmanuel Macron when Prabowo told about the history of Borobudur Temple.

The moment, said Seskab Teddy, occurred when President Prabowo drove himself a golf car that brought President Macron, Brigitte Macron and President Prabowo's son, Didit Hediprasetyo from the courtyard of Borobudur Temple, Magelang, Central Java, to the main stairs of the temple.

"The closeness of the two can be seen from the relaxed conversation and Prabowo's explanation of the history and privileges of Borobudur," said Seskab Teddy, as quoted from one of the uploads via his official Instagram account @sekretariat.kabinet on Friday.

Seskab Teddy explained that the moment of the closeness of the two heads of state was also seen when he shook his hands tightly when he took a photo together in the courtyard of Borobudur Temple.

"It is an honor for me as President of the Republic of Indonesia to accompany my friend, President of the Republic of France today," President Prabowo said in a statement in the courtyard of Borobudur Temple, Magelang, Central Java, Thursday (29/5).

The President welcomed the arrival of President Macron and his delegation to Borobudur Temple which is a masterpiece of Syailendra's ancient civilization.

In front of the guests, the President emphasized that Borobudur had been designated by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage rich in history and spiritual meaning.

"Indonesia as a nation that has a philosophy, the basis of the state is Pancasila respecting all religions and all beliefs," said the President.

President Macron's visit, Brigitte Macron and his delegation to Borobudur Temple on Thursday (29/5) is the closing of a series of official President Macron visits while in Indonesia from 27-29 May 2025.

After Indonesia, President Macron continued his state visit to Singapore, as part of an official visit to the Indo-Pacific region.*
