Lampung Cooperation In Satellite Utilization With Two Chinese Companies
BandarLampung - Lampung Provincial Government (Pemprov) has collaborated on the use of satellites for the development of various sectors with two space technology companies from China.
"This collaboration is a historic and strategic step that marks the start of the transformation of Lampung towards a high-tech-based province," said Lampung Governor Rahmat Mirzani Djausal based on a written statement received in Bandarlampung, Thursday.
He said the Lampung 1 satellite had a big impact on the lives of people in Lampung Province, especially in agriculture and marine sectors.
"In agriculture, hyperspectral satellite technology such as Lampung 1 will be a major breakthrough, because this technology allows farmers to know the level of soil moisture, leaf chlorophyll levels, the early spread of pests or diseases, the optimal planting schedule based on micro climate mapping, the estimated water supply during the planting period," he said.

He continued that the satellite also helps strengthen disaster response and spatial planning systems, the satellite can provide important functions such as flood detection, land fires, and landslides early.
Meanwhile, in the city planning sector, the satellite technology is used to plan more precise spatial planning and zoning, then for supervision of conservation areas such as forest additions and the latest coastal surveillance.
We have the opportunity to use AI-based satellite technology that can help with precise, data-based efficient development. With this technology no longer felt in planning, but moved based on a real condition map in the field. This will be a data and technology facility that can be used by the government and all parties," he said.
He explained this as a form of commitment to conduct training in terms of developing local human resources in the field of satellite technology and technology independence.
"In this case, the Lampung Provincial Government plans to send 100 young Lampung generations to China for remote sensing training and satellite communication systems. The goal is for the operation of satellites, data processing, and spatial analytics to be carried out by the Lampung HR itself in the next few years," he said.
According to him, the development of technological infrastructure in the meeting was also one of the main agendas that would be realized in the plan to build a natural station in Lampung for satellite data acceptance, processing, and distribution.
So that the first space research ecosystem in Indonesia will be able to start from Lampung which will involve universities and industrial partners as an important part of it.
Previously, the Governor of Lampung, Rahmat Mirzani Djausal, also made a visit to the satellite launch ship belonging to STAR VISION which was used for launches from the sea.
Lampung Governor Rahmat Mirzani Djausal also officially signed Letter of Intent (LoI) with two Chinese space companies STAR VISION Aerospace Ltd and ORiental Maritime Space Port (Shandong) Development Group Co Ltd.
The signing ceremony which has been coordinated with the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) was held at the STAR VISION head office in Haiyang City, Shandong Province. The signing of the document was carried out with the Co-CEO STAR VISION Aerospace Ltd Danying Fan and the Deputy Secretary of the Alternative Maritime Space Port-Shandong Development Group Co Ltd Zhaohui Sun.
Then met with Yantai Mayor Jiang Cheng and the city government, to introduce the potential of their respective regions and discuss opportunities for cooperation in the future. Especially in the field of port development and the use of satellite imagery for regional planning and disaster mitigation.
This step is also a continuation of the collaboration that has begun at the Shandong International Friendship Cities Cooperation and Exchange Week forum which emphasizes Lampung's position as a province that is ready to collaborate internationally for technological advances and development.
The main contents of the cooperation include naming the Lampung 1 satellite as a symbol of a strategic partnership. Increase the capacity of Lampung's human resources in the field of remote sensing and space technology, facilitate visits to the Bmaritim launch facility in China, and development of natural stations in Lampung for satellite data acceptance and processing
