BMKG: Beware Of Rain In Java, Sumatra, To Papua Today
JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that a number of major cities in Indonesia on Wednesday have the potential to rain to be shrouded in clouds.
"On the island of Java, light to moderate rain has the potential to be in Serang, Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya. Meanwhile, Jakarta and Bandung have the potential to be thick cloudy," said BMKG forecaster Sekar Anggraeni in a weather forecast broadcast in Jakarta, Wednesday, May 28.
Meanwhile, in the Sumatra region, light to moderate rain has the potential to occur in Medan, Pekanbaru, Tanjung Pinang, and Pangkal Pinang. Meanwhile, Aceh, Padang, Bengkulu, Jambi, Palembang, and Bandar Lampung are predicted to be cloudy.
"Denpasar and Mataram are predicted to have light rain. Meanwhile, Kupang has the potential to be cloudy," he said.
Furthermore, he said, in Kalimantan areas that have the potential to experience heavy rain accompanied by lightning, namely Tanjung Selor. Meanwhile, Palangka Raya, Banjarmasin, and Samarinda are predicted to be cloudy. Pontianak has the potential to experience light rain.
Moving to the Sulawesi area, he continued, Palu, Makassar, Mamuju, Manado, Gorontalo, and Kendari are predicted to experience light to moderate rain.
