Minister Of Environment Starts Processing Environmental Documents Of LNG Bali
DENPASAR - Minister of Environment and Head of the Indonesian Environmental Control Agency Hanif Faisol Nurofiq ensured that his ministry would begin processing environmental documents from the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) project in Bali.
Hanif said the project document turned out to have been deposited in the Ministry of Environment for 3 years so that now it doesn't want to be postponed anymore.
"I have to say, this must go up immediately, whether it is rejected or not, must be processed immediately, allow me after today, start this environmental document to run," he said while visiting the LNG project location in Denpasar, Bali, Tuesday, May 27.
It is known that the Bali Provincial Government will build LNG in the coastal area of Sidakarya Village, South Denpasar, where from all licensing processes that must be owned only permits regarding the impact of the (Amdal) environment that has not been pocketed.
Minister of Environment explained that there were three things that KLH considered in approving the submission of environmental documents such as social scope, environmental issues, and technology.
On the social side, Hanif Faisol admitted that he received information about a number of rejections from the public regarding the LNG floating terminal construction plan.
A number of business worlds also criticized its existence, so to answer this response, he asked to present all elements to answer whether or not development was appropriate.
"Later, all parties must be presented by the Bali Provincial Government together with our team of experts to be investigated, nothing should be missed, nothing should be presented that supports and supports only those who are presented," he said.

For the environmental side, the Minister of Environment asked the Bali Provincial Government to remember that the tofu area must be considered, plus coral reefs whose ecosystems should not be disturbed.
"Its existence must be properly guarded, not distracted by any of our actions, then also these corals or coral reefs I try to pay close attention to from the map we have, next to the estuary there are coral reefs that should not be disturbed," he said.
Finally, in terms of technology, KLH will bring in experts to conduct a feasibility test to examine the consequences of the technology used.
"Three things produce whether they are feasible or not, otherwise we are obliged to think about reallocating the location," said Hanif Faisol.
He could not confirm when LNG in Bali could be built, but Hanif confirmed that he would take 2-3 months to issue environmental documents.
