Deli Serdang Prosecutor's Stabbing Case: Three Perpetrators Arrested, Motives Still Being Investigated

The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the North Sumatra Regional Police (Polda) has again arrested one person suspected of stabbing the prosecutor and staff of the Deli Serdang District Attorney's detention guard (Kajari), on Sunday, May 25.

From the hands of the perpetrators, the police confiscated evidence in the form of a motorcycle and a sharp weapon of the type of sword used to attack the victim.

The perpetrator who had just been arrested was identified as Mardiansyah alias Bedil. He was secured at his home in the Galang District, Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatra.

With this arrest, a total of three perpetrators have been arrested. Previously, two other suspects, namely Alfa Patria Lubis alias Kepot and Surya Dharma alias harama, had been arrested by the police.

Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Kombes Pol Ferry Walintukan, confirmed that the three stabbing perpetrators had been arrested.

"The first perpetrators who were arrested were AFL alias K (Kepot), who acted as the masterminds of the perpetrators. Then SD alias G (Gallo) as the executor, and M alias B (Bedil) who took a ride to the scene," explained Ferry, Monday, May 26.

He also said that the perpetrator of Alfa Patria Lubis alias Kepot had a personal relationship and knew the victim, namely the prosecutor Kajari Deli Serdang, Jhon Wesly Sinaga. Regarding the motive for the attack, the police are still conducting further investigations.

"The motive for this case is still being investigated by investigators from the North Sumatra Police Ditreskrimum. However, so far it is known that the perpetrators and victims know each other," added Ferry.

A number of evidences were also secured in this case, including a motorbike belonging to the perpetrator and a sword that was used during the stabbing.

The three perpetrators are currently undergoing an intensive examination process at the North Sumatra Police Headquarters.

The stabbing incident occurred on Saturday (24/5/2025) at around 13.30 WIB in the oil palm plantation area owned by Jhon Wesly Sinaga, located in Parbahaning Village, Kotarih District, Serdang Bedagai Regency.

At the time of the incident, victim Jhon Wesly Sinaga and his colleague, Asensio Silvanov Hutabarat, were harvesting palm oil in the garden. Suddenly, two perpetrators, namely Surya Dharma and Mardiansyah, came on a motorbike and immediately attacked the victim with a sharp weapon.

After slashing, the two perpetrators fled the location. Local residents who saw the victim's condition immediately provided assistance and took the two to Amri Tambunan Hospital, Deli Serdang.

Currently, the two victims are referred to the Columbia Asia Hospital in Medan for intensive care. They suffered serious stab wounds to the hands, and even almost broke.
