4 Tons Of Drugs From Thailand To Riau Islands, BNN Hunts The Aungtoetoe 99 And Sea Dragon Ship Boss

The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) is hunting for two ship owners who smuggle drugs in the waters of the Riau Islands, namely The Aungtoetoe 99 carrying 1.2 tons of cocaine and 678 kg of crystal methamphetamine, and the Sea Dragon Terawa Motorboat carrying two tons of crystal methamphetamine from Thailand.

Head of the Indonesian National Narcotics Agency, Komjen Pol. Martinus Hukom, said that his party had conducted joint investigations with neighboring state law enforcement officials to detect the owners of the two ships.

"BNN has joint investigations with various countries to dismantle the syndicate network widely, and finally managed to identify the owner of The Autoetoe99 ship named Ka Khao," said Hukom, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 26.

He said BNN had issued a red notice and named Ka Khao as an international wanted list (DPO) to become an international fugitive.

Meanwhile, the owner of the Sea Dragon Tarawa ship was identified by BNN in collaboration with the American DEA and the Thai Police.

"Dari pelaksanaan joint investigation tersebut berhasil mengidentifikasi seseorang bernama Chan Chai abahi Kentai Tui, alias Mr Tan, alias harus Tan," katanya.

He said Chan Chai was a fugitive from the Thai police who acted as the controller of narcotics smuggling using the Sea Dragon Tarawa motorboat.

"BNN immediately issued a red notice and designated it as an international DPO to become an international fugitive," he said.

In addition, related to narcotics evidence from the two ships, said Hukom, BNN conducted further laboratory examinations to identify "drug signatures" to find similarities and links to other narcotics cases that had been previously revealed.

"Drug signature" is one of BNN's strategic steps to identify narcotics based on certain characteristics and characteristics possessed by each type of narcotics.

"The test of the drug signature equation is to find out the chemical composition together, the composition is the same. If the composition is the same, it means the producer is the same, the factory is the same, maybe there is a syndicate network, hopefully it can connect," said Hukom.

From the disclosure of the case of smuggling four tons of narcotics in the Riau Islands waters, the joint team of the Indonesian National Narcotics Agency (BNN RI), Customs and Excise, Navy and National Police (TNI AL) can prevent the potential for a circulation of money in the community to buy drugs of approximately IDR 5 trillion and prevent the potential for narcotics abuse of approximately eight million people, or equivalent to the total population of Jakarta.
