ASEAN 2045 Inaugurated At The 46th Summit, This Is The Complete Contents Of The Declaration

JAKARTA - The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, signed the Kuala Lumpur Declaration on ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future at the 46th ASEAN Summit (KTT) which was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLC), Monday, May 26. The signing was carried out with all ASEAN heads of state and government.

The declaration was also witnessed by the Prime Minister of Timor Leste, Xanana Gusmao, who was present as an observer because his country has not yet become a full member of ASEAN.

"ASEAN must be stronger, more solid. The world situation is uncertain, so we have to work better together," Prabowo said after the signing of the declaration.

This document reinforces the commitment of ASEAN countries to an inclusive, peaceful, and prosperous shared future. In the declaration, ASEAN leaders renewed the promise of unity and cooperation that had been built since the organization was founded in 1967.

"Today, we renew that noble promise. Not only as a tribute to the past, but as a commitment to welcoming the future," said Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

1. Confirm ASEAN Long-Term Vision 2045 Declaration affirms the vision to make ASEAN a resilient, innovative, and people-oriented region in the face of dynamic global challenges.

2. Encouraging Inclusive and Sustainable Area Integration ASEAN emphasizes the importance of equitable development, improving living standards, and strengthening human resources.

3. Responding to Global Disruption Collectively Emphasizes the need for cooperation in the face of technological changes, economic fragmentation, and climate crises so as not to widen the social gap.

4. Strengthening Trust and Solidarity of the Solidarity and mutual trust areas is considered the main foundation in facing regional and global geopolitical challenges.

5. Continuing the legacy of the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 This declaration is a continuation of the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 which was initiated when Malaysia became chairman of ASEAN in 2015.

6. Increasing ASEAN's Role as a GlobalASEAN Stability Axis is committed to anchoring stability and the center of economic growth by expanding strategic partnerships, including with GCC and China.

7. Building Digital Governance and the Future Economy Cooperation in technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and the digital economy will be developed inclusive, ethical, and sustainable.

8. Encouraging Youth Leadership and Civil Society Involvement ASEAN recognizes the importance of the role of the younger generation, parliament, business community, and civil society in the regional development process.

Kuala Lumpur's declaration became an important milestone in ASEAN's journey to 2045. This document not only responds to the challenges of the times, but also becomes the foundation for inheriting a stronger and united region for future generations.
