The Majority Of Indonesia's Potentially Showered With Light Rain Today

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that most areas in Indonesia will experience light rain on Tuesday, May 27.

"In general, the weather in the cities of Banda Aceh, Pekanbaru, and Padang is predicted to be thick cloudy," said BMKG forecaster Sekar Anggraeni, quoted from ANTARA.

In other areas of Sumatra, light rain is expected to fall in the cities of Medan and Tanjung Pinang, while Bandar Lampung City is forecasted. The weather in Bengkulu and Jambi is predicted to be thick cloudy, while Palembang and Pangkal Pinang have the potential to experience light rain.

On the island of Java, the weather in Serang and Jakarta is expected to be thick cloudy. Meanwhile, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya are forecasted to experience light rain.

In the areas of Bali and Nusa Tenggara, light rain is predicted to fall in Denpasar and Mataram cities. Meanwhile, Kupang City has the potential to experience rain accompanied by lightning.

In Kalimantan, light rain is expected to occur in Pontianak and Banjarmasin. The city of Tanjung Selor is predicted to experience heavy rain. BMKG also reminded people in Palangka Raya and Samarinda to be aware of rain accompanied by lightning.

For the Sulawesi region, light rain is predicted to occur in Makassar, Kendari, Palu, and Gorontalo. Mamuju City is expected to experience moderate rain, while rain accompanied by lightning is predicted to fall in Manado City.

Meanwhile, eastern parts of Indonesia such as Ternate, Ambon, Sorong, Manokwari, Nabire, Jayapura, Jayawijaya, and Merauke are also predicted to experience light rain throughout the day.
