Bogor DPRD Highlights 599 School Dropout Cases Throughout 2024
BOGOR Commission IV of the Bogor City DPRD highlighted the high number of school dropouts in the area. Based on data from the Bogor City Education Office (Disdik), it was recorded that 599 children had dropped out of school throughout 2024.
Deputy Chairman of Commission IV of the Bogor City DPRD, Rezky Kartika, expressed his concern over the findings. He emphasized that there should not be children in Bogor City who cannot access education.
"This is very contrary to the vision of the Regional Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPD) for Bogor City 2025-2045, which targets Bogor City to become a sustainable science city," Rezky said in his statement, Monday, May 26.
He considered, if the goal of regional development is to create a city that is superior in the field of education, then the high number of dropouts is an alarming condition.

Rezky, who comes from the Electoral Region (Dapil) of South Bogor District, revealed that he had found similar cases several times in his area. For this reason, the DPRD will encourage an increase in the Anti-School Network (Japati) program initiated by the Bogor City Education Office.
"We will fully support this program in the hope that no more children will have to stop going to school," he said.
He also added that Commission IV of the DPRD will continue to monitor the development of this issue and be ready to develop additional programs if needed so that the problem of dropping out of school can be addressed immediately.
