Huawei Now Creates Its Own Camera Sensors To Replace Sony Sensors
JAKARTA - Huawei is rumored to be using its own camera sensor in the latest smartphone series, Pura 80 Pro, as a replacement for the Sony sensor that has been used so far. In this device, Huawei is expected to use a 50MP resolution 1-inch RYYB sensor called SmartSens SC5A0CS, developed by Huawei itself, as the main camera.
Not only the main camera, the three sensors at Pura 80 Pro will also use a special RYYB color filter which is claimed to improve camera performance in minimal light conditions with up to 40 percent more light absorption. Other sensors include a 50MP ultra-wide lens and a 50MP macro telephoto telescope camera which is also equipped with an AI feature to improve image quality.

In addition to focusing on the camera, the Huawei Pura 80 Pro will come with an OLED LTPO screen measuring 6.78 inches with a 1.5K resolution and supports a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz, just like its predecessor. For the runway, although it has not been confirmed, the Pura 80 Pro is expected to use Huawei's Kirin 9010 chipset, just like the previous 70 Pro and 70 Ultra Pura series.
To date, Huawei has not announced the official launch date of the Pura 80 series. However, rumors say that this series will be introduced in June. The company is also reportedly conducting stringent testing so that product stocks can be available early and avoid problems at launch.
