One Jebol River Embankment In Demak Successfully Closed

DEMAK - One of the two river embankments that broke down in Demak Regency, Central Java, was successfully closed so that the water no longer inundated residential areas.

"The river embankments that have been repaired are the right embankment of the Dukuh Kembangan River, Kembangan Village, Bonang District. The work has been completed since Sunday (25/5)," said Acting Head of the Demak Regency BPBD Daily Executive Agus Musyafak as reported by ANTARA, Monday, May 26.

In the process of closing the embankment, the 10 meters were broken, he said, two excavators were also lowered.

After closing one hundred percent, he said, currently repairing the right embankment of the Dukuh Pidodo River, Karangrejo Village, Bonang District, which collapsed 13 meters long.

To repair the embankment in Karangrejo Village, apart from deploying two excavators belonging to the Pemali Juana River Basin Center (BBWS), one heavy equipment was also deployed from the Demak Public Works and Spatial Planning Service (DPUPR).

"Today (26/5) has completed the construction of a kisdam in the area where the river embankment collapsed in Karangrejo Village," he said.

For acceleration, work from 07.00 to 22.00 WIB.

Regarding the two locations where the embankment broke down in Pilangsari Village, he said, it was also carried out in stages because of the priorities in Kembangan and Karangrejo villages.

Floods in Demak Regency resulted in 12 villages in three sub-districts being affected, while in three villages in two sub-districts the flood had receded.

Regarding flooding in Sayung Village, currently the height of the inundation ranges from 20-70 centimeters.

Floods are caused by rainwater that cannot flow, while the main Kalisari-Genuk road still has a puddle of between 10-30 cm and 1.5 kilometers because the channel is full and cannot flow into the river.
