Lamban Kembangkan Blok Masela, Bahlil Gives 2 Warning Letters And Threatens To Revoke Inpex Permits

JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia threatened to revoke the Inpex Corporation permit if Masela Field development did not progress.

Bahlil said that at the beginning of last year the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources had given Pertma's Warning Letter (SP) to Inpex Masela because the development of this eternal field tends to run on the spot.

"One big company that has been given concessions for 26 years, Inpex Blok Masela has been targeted for 26 years. I have given the first SP," said Bahlil, Monday, May 26.

According to Bahlil, if further development is not carried out, he will not hesitate to provide SP II and will revoke the contract of this Japanese oil and gas company.

"Still playing with the second SP. Otherwise we will withdraw it on behalf of the state. This is serious," he continued.

Bahlil said that the revocation of this contract applies to all Cooperation Contract Contract Contractors (KKKS) who do not carry out developments on oil and gas fields that have been given permission by the government.

Based on data belonging to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil detailed that there are at least 301 exploration results that have not received approval from the development plan or plan of development (PoD) with a potential of 1.8 BBO, 12.4 TCF.

"We still have 60 WK that we have to tender in the future," said Bahlil.
