A Student In Gowa Is Suspected Of Being Involved In Terrorism

JAKARTA - A student was arrested by Densus 88 Anti-Terror officers and the South Sulawesi Police regarding the alleged terrorism network on Jalan SD Daeng Emba, Samata, Somba Opu District, Gowa Regency.

"Secured in front of Citra Junior High School, here. He is buying gallon water. If the motorbike is not (secured), people will be secured. It has been taken, at half past six in the afternoon," said Nasir Daeng Nai as Head of RW 04, Samata Village, Gowa, Saturday night.

The student is known to have the initials Mu alias Am was arrested by the police while buying gallons of refilled water. He said the suspect was arrested in connection with a terrorist network in the South Sulawesi region.

"If the information was, there was a smell of terror. (terrorists) are like that," explained Nasir.

When asked what the suspect's activities were when the police were arrested, said Nasir, as a teacher of the Tahfidz Al-Quran (RTA) House in Palangga, behind the Heroes Cemetery (TMP), Romang Lompoa, Gowa Regency.

"Because his place of residence is here. Only he is in Palangga, teaching Tahfidz Al-Quran. (Other activities) I don't know, because we are here, while he is there teaching," he said.

Separately, the suspect's biological mother, Sitti Khadijah, confirmed that her son was arrested by the police while buying a gallon of refilled water.

"Yes, my son, sir, a boy aged 18 years. Allegedly a terrorist, one person ji (secured). Because right from buying gallon water, my son and his motorbike were immediately taken," he said at his residence.

When asked if his son had other activities or worked, he said, his son was still in 3rd grade in high school, and only taught at the hafidz house.

"Not working, he only fosters (student) at hafidz's house, like ustad ji. He teaches there in his hut Tahfidz Grafis House, RTG," he said.

However, he did not know for sure where to teach, but as far as he knew there were several branches of the tahfidz house.

"I didn't memorize all the branches. But it was a long time ago. He was immediately arrested earlier. His youngest brother said he was arrested by ki' Ammar, Ummi," he said imitating.

The arrest of his son is about 300 meters from his home. When secured, he was not at the location, and did not know about the arrest of his son.

"I wasn't at the location. I went looking for information, coincidentally in front of a police car, that's where I asked.

"I asked earlier, there was also Mr. RW. Mr. RW said, yes, it's safe that the child is ta. The important thing is not to be hurt," he said again.

Regarding the daily activities of the suspect, whether there is a relationship with a terrorist network, he said, he did not know for sure about it, because his activities were only worship and teaching the Koran.

"Nothing, pray to the mosque, usually here. At home, I never go out if I don't ask them to come out," he said again.

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of the South Sulawesi Police, Kombes Pol. Didik Supranoto, when confirmed by reporters, said he had not monitored the arrest. However, his party will soon provide information about it. "Not yet monitored," he said.
