The Speaker Of The House Of Representatives Will Receive A Visit From The Chinese PM Tomorrow Afternoon, Discuss Strengthening Cooperation

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, will receive an honorary visit from the Chinese Prime Minister (PM) Li Qiang at the DPR Building, Sunday, May 25, afternoon. Their meeting will discuss strengthening cooperation between Indonesia and China.

In tomorrow's meeting, PM Li Qiang will bring a number of his cabinet ministers to hold bilateral meetings with Puan. Puan said the visit was an honor because the Chinese Prime Minister also visited the DPR during his state visit in Indonesia.

"PM Li Qiang's visit to the DPR Building is a reflection of the Chinese government wanting to strengthen relations with the Indonesian people," said Puan, Saturday, May 24.

For information, Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang and his entourage will arrive in Jakarta this afternoon via Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base for an official visit to Indonesia for three days from May 24 to 26, 2025.

According to Puan, Li Qiang's presence in Indonesia can further strengthen relations between the two countries. Moreover, in 2025, Indonesia and China will celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations.

"This warning can be a momentum to deepen relations between Indonesia and China," said Puan.

Puan also mentioned the 70th anniversary of the Asia Africa Conference (KAA) in Bandung where Indonesia-China have been working together since then to fight for the freedom of various nations.

"Dasasila Bandung or 10 KAA principles are still relevant to the current dynamics of the world. Good relations between Indonesia and China can be a strong foundation not only for cooperation between countries but also cooperation at the global level," said Puan.

In a bilateral meeting on Sunday afternoon, Puan and Li Qiang will discuss various issues related to bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and China, such as politics, economy, and socio-cultural affairs. Including cooperation between parliaments between the two countries.

"This is a form of Indonesia-China's commitment to strengthen and improve bilateral relations. Of course, this is also an effort to strengthen cooperation, especially in various strategic fields," explained Bung Karno's grandson.

PM Li Qiang is also scheduled to hold a meeting with President Prabowo Subianto on Sunday morning at the Presidential Palace.
