Lesti Kejora Responds To Yoni Dores' Report Regarding Alleged Violations Of Copyright
JAKARTA - Lesti Kejora through her attorney, Sadrakh Seskoadi, responded to the police report to the Polda Metro Jaya made by Yoni Dores, on suspicion of copyright infringement.
Through social media, Sadrakh shared an official statement on the problems faced by his client. It was stated that the police report was actually known through the news in the mass media.
"That we heard that there was a report against Sister Lesti Kejora from the news and/or that was broadcast by the mass media," said Sadrakh's official statement, Thursday, May 22.
Lesti Kejora chose to first look at the progress of the ongoing legal process, and chose to respect Yoni Dores' decision as the reporter.
"That we respect Brother Yonni Dores' decision to report sister Lesti Kejora to the Indonesian National Police because it is the right of every Indonesian citizen," he said.
"That with the presumption of innocence, we are still waiting for the progress of the ongoing legal process and are also still studying what is the basis for Yonni Dores' reporting."

Through this official statement, Sadrakh asked the parties to wait for the progress of the handling of the case being carried out by the police.
"We as the attorney for Sister Lesti Kejora ask all parties to wait for further clarity on the progress of handling this case, so that it does not become a confusing and irresponsible news," said Sadrakh.
Previously, the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Ade Ary, confirmed the report against Lesti Kejora, which was made on Sunday, May 18.
"Two days ago we received a criminal report related to intellectual property or in this case a copyright crime, as regulated in Article 113 in conjunction with Article 9 of Law No. 28 of 2014 concerning Copyright," said Ade Ary to the media crew at Polda Metro Jaya, Tuesday, May 20.
Ade called the reporter with the initials IS a lawyer, with the victim YM alias YD, and LK as the reported party.
Ade explained, the reported party has covered several songs belonging to the victim since 2018 until now. The problem is that the cover results of the song have been uploaded to several digital platforms, such as YouTube, without the knowledge and permission of the victim as a songwriter.
"For this incident, the victim made a report and is currently being investigated by investigators," said Ade.
Furthermore, Ade also said that the complainant had brought some evidence related to the alleged copyright infringement committed by Lesti Kejora.
"When the reporter arrived, the reporter brought some evidence that was submitted for further investigation, including one flash drive, then there was a statement from the publisher and print out the cover of the song," said Ade.
"So, we have received the report and the team is still investigating," he concluded.
