Warning! 80 Percent Of Covid-19 Referral Hospitals In Riau Are Filled, Want To Be Like India?
JAKARTA - Riau Province COVID-19 spokesperson dr. Indra Yovi Sp.P (K) stated that the occupancy rate of the isolation room for COVID-19 patients at destination hospitals in the regions has reached 80 percent.
"This is not a joke anymore. Can conditions like in India happen here, it could happen if we do not comply with health protocols properly," said Indra Yovi in Pekanbaru, Saturday, May 1, Antara reported.
Based on data from the Riau Provincial Health Office, the capacity of isolation rooms in all COVID-19 referral hospitals (RS) in Riau is 1,625 beds.
Currently, the condition is 80 percent filled. Meanwhile, the ICU room has 137 beds and is almost full.
He said there was no other way for all parties to be obliged to implement the 5M, namely wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance, staying away from crowds and reducing mobility.
"Is it permissible to go home? Never mind going home, to leave the house if it is not necessary for a while, not just yet. Until when? Until we can control the number of cases," he said.
"All the ventilator ICU rooms are full, the remaining ICU without a ventilator is only a monitor," he said.
He said that currently 82 percent of patients treated have comorbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, heart and kidney problems.
"The sick have not been vaccinated for various reasons," he said.
