What Is Syaja'ah? This Is Understanding, Priority, And Type

YOGYAKARTA - Having good behavior is a must for every Muslim. One of the morals that every good Muslim must have is shaja'ah. What is shaja'ah?

Quoted from the book Aqidah Akhlak, Fitria Dwi Cahyani & Machunah Ani Zulfah (:70), muja'ah is the attitude of courage that a person needs in life. Shaja'ah's nature is needed to uphold truth and prevent evil.

The term dare' because it is true, afraid because it is wrong' of course we have often met and are familiar to the mind. In the sentence, it turns out that there is a meaning of haja'ah.

Based on the book Pasti Bisa Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pekerti untuk SMA/MA Kelas XI, Tim Duta (2018), terdapat dua maksaan syaja'ah yang wajib diketahui, baik itu secara bahasa maupun term.

In terms of language, the word 'syaja'ah comes from Arabic which means mandatory or brave. As for the term 'shaja'ah is an attitude of determination, strength of establishment, and courage to defend and defend the truth.

In other words, haja'ah is courage in someone who is based on truth and done with full calculation and careful consideration because he solely hopes for the pleasure of Allah ta'ala.

Quoted from the cendikia.kemenag.go.id page, the opponent of shaja'ah is al-jubn which means coward.ARility is certainly a despicable and very dangerous behavior, especially a coward in being committed to the truth for fear of being injured by others.

In addition, this al-jubn attitude can also be reflected in the fear of losing world assets and fear of risks in carrying out a struggle.

The nature of the Shaja'ah in a person will make him dare to defend the truth and be prepared with all the risks and consequences that could happen to him. In addition, people who maintain the nature of the Shaja'ah will come afraid to do the deeds that Allah forbids.

Therefore, this muja'ah or courage is classified as one of the commendable behaviors that must be done for everyone who believes. People who are istiqamah and patient are also classified as haja'ah because they are able to uphold the truth istiqomahally in the way of Allah Swt.

In QS Ali-Imran verse 139, Allah Swt obeys as follows:

Let's talk about it. Let's talk about it, let's talk about it.

Meaning: 'Don't be weak, and don't (neither) you be sad, even though you are the highest (degree) people, if you are a believer.'

The paragraph above clearly states that shaja'ah is a behavior that directs a person to be confident and firm in defending the truth, because humans are the most noble creatures in the sight of Allah, if they maintain faith and piety to Him.

Allah orders people who believe to dare to express truth and honesty. People who are brave and honest in conveying the truth are granted a higher degree than people who hide and fear to say it.

Syaja'ah can maintain the dignity, honor and glory of people who have this trait. So that he will be kept away from bad behavior such as latah (following), lack of establishment, discipline, and all these things can weaken and undermine humans.

Shaja'ah behavior is divided into two types, including:

Syaja 'ah harbiyah is the courage to eradicate the evil that can be seen by the eyes. An example of haja'ah harbiyah is the courage to face enemies in the war to uphold the religion of Allah (jihad fi sabilillah).

By applying the nature of haja'ah, a person will never withdraw from the battlefield because courage and enthusiasm have been embedded in him.

Syaja 'ah nafsiyah is the courage to uphold the truth and face danger and suffering. The context in shaja'ah nafsiyah is to dare to convey something that is believed to be true even though the risk is hate from others.

There are five kinds of haja'ah nafsiyah, namely:
