Luckily, Breeders Named Adrizal, The Cow Was Purchased By President Prabowo For IDR 75 Million For Sacrifice

PARIAMAN - The sacrificial cows were assisted by President Prabowo Subianto for residents of Padang Pariaman Regency, West Sumatra, purchased from breeders from Talo Gondan, Nagari Kurai Taji, Nan Sabarais District. This cow weighs almost one ton and is purchased for IDR 75 million.

"This year Padang Pariaman Regency received a sacrificial cow from the President, previously there was none," said Padang Pariaman Zulkhailisman, Head of Animal Husbandry and Health Service (DPKH) Zulkhailisman in Parik Malintang, Antara, Friday, May 23.

The selection of sacrificial cows is based on the selection results carried out by the ranks of the Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD). His party found a cattle type of Ongole, four years old, weighing up to 930 kilograms and belonging to a farmer named Adrizal.

"Then the Presidential Secretariat conducts a sale and purchase offer with farmers via video calls," he said.

The cow, he continued, was born in Nan Sabarais District and is the result of an artificial insemination (IB) carried out by a local inseminator.

He conveyed that the Rp75 million price includes taxes, maintenance costs, to the day of slaughter, as well as delivery to the cutting site, namely the Taqwa Mosque of the Geringging Nagari River Malai III Koto, Sungai Geringging District.

According to him, the purchase of sacrificial cows from President Prabowo can increase the motivation of breeders in Padang Pariaman, both in increasing the population of cows and for fatting.

This is in accordance with the local government's efforts to increase the cattle population in Padang Pariaman, which based on data on the number of livestock populations until the end of 2024 reached 42.6 thousand.

Previously, the Padang Pariaman Regency Government (Pemkab) recorded that the cattle population in the area increased by around 472 from 42.2 thousand in 2023 to 42.6 thousand in 2024.

"Indeed, nationally there is an increase in the cattle population by around 1 to 3 percent, now in Padang Pariaman the increase is around 1.5 percent," said Zulkhailisman.
