Accompanied By Abidzar, Umi Pipik Reports 2 Warganet Accounts On Allegations Of Humiliation

JAKARTA - Umi Pipik Dian Irawati officially made a report to the authorities regarding cases of alleged insult or defamation. In the process of her report, Umi Pipik was seen accompanied by her son, Abidzar Al-Ghifari.

"So today we have reported several more accounts later so that friends at the police will carry out an investigation process," said Umi Pipik's attorney, Rendy Anggara Putra at Polda Metro Jaya, Thursday, May 22.

"Because we Umi Pipik have made an official report on insults or defamation through electronic media articles 27 of the ITE Law in conjunction with 310 and 311 of the Criminal Code," he continued.

Rendy said, when reporting, Umi Pipik also immediately submitted evidence such as screenshots of tweets that were considered insulting and also video podcast footage.

"Our proof is that there is a screenshot of a tweet from X, then a screenshot as well as video footage from the podcast, so that's what has given the evidence," explained Rendy.

So far, only two accounts have been reported by Umi Pipik. It is possible that this number could increase. "Meanwhile, we have reported 2 accounts," added Rendy.

Seeing this, Umi Pipik conveyed that the actions he took were to provide a deterrent effect to netizens who often made hate speech.

"This is a state of law, yes. This is the goal again to provide lessons. If in the end everyone tweets, bullys, then just meets, apologizes, it will be like that tomorrow," said Umi Pipik.

"So let this legal process run first, what about the ending, we leave it to the police," he continued.

The same thing was also conveyed by Abidzar who wanted this report to continue to be processed in accordance with applicable law.

"This has happened several times for my family. I personally will continue to serve according to the law. Finally, I did that but there has been no deterrent effect at all. So it seems that the legal process is the best way," he concluded.
