KPK Confiscates IDR 2 Billion Land Belonging To Anwar Sadad Related To Corruption In East Java Grant Funds

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confiscated a plot of land with a value of up to Rp. 2 billion in Pasuruan. It is suspected that this asset belongs to the legislator of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Anwar Sadad, which is related to allegations of corruption in the management of grant funds for community groups from the East Java Provincial Budget for Fiscal Year 2021-2022.

"Investigators also confiscated a plot of land and buildings located in Pasuruan worth approximately Rp. 2 billion which the suspect allegedly bought from the proceeds of corruption for the case," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters in a written statement quoted on Friday, May 23.

Apart from confiscation, investigators also examined five witnesses at the Pasuruan Police Station, East Java on Thursday, May 22. They are Achmad Fuad as the Head of Jeruk Village; Wahayu Krisma Suyanto who is a Notary/PPAT; Saifudin as a private sector; Ahmad Yahya as an entrepreneur; and M. Fathullah as the Sand Miner CV Jaya Berkah Sentosa.

This examination was carried out to find other assets belonging to Anwar Sadad which allegedly came from bribes from grant funds.

"All witnesses are present, investigators are investigating the ownership of US suspect's assets," said Budi.

Previously reported, the KPK again investigated the alleged bribery of grant funds for community groups or pokmas from the East Java Provincial Budget for the 2019-2022 Fiscal Year. 21 suspects have been determined from the development of the case.

In the process of running, a number of locations have been searched by investigators. Among them are the house of former DPD Chairman La Nyalla Mattalitti and the East Java Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) office.

In addition, the KPK has asked the Directorate General of Immigration of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) to prevent 21 people from leaving the country in this case. They are KUS which is a state administrator or member of the East Java Provincial DPRD; AI, a member of the East Java Provincial DPRD; MAH, a member of the East Java Provincial DPRD; and AS a member of the East Java Provincial DPRD.

Also prevented by BW, JPP, HAS, SUK, AR, WK, AJ, MAS, AA, AYM, AH, RWS, MF, AM, and MM as private parties; FA as a member of the Sampang Regency DPRD; and JJ who is a state administrator or member of the Probolinggo Regency DPRD.
