Bank DKI Value Observer Needs Management Revitalization To Restore Public Trust
JAKARTA Public Policy Observer Trubus Rahadiansyah assessed that the strategic step that must be taken by Bank DKI immediately to restore public trust is to carry out comprehensive internal revitalization of company management.
"The first step that must be taken by Bank DKI at this time is the revitalization, cleaning, or change of management to be able to increase public trust again," Trubus told VOI, Thursday, May 22.
In addition to improving the internal structure, Trubus emphasized that it must be accompanied by an increase in the supervision system for all operational aspects.
Trubus said that comprehensive supervision will help minimize potential problems in the future.
He added that supervision should not only be focused on Bank DKI, but must also be applied thoroughly to all Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD) in Jakarta.
According to Trubus, the source of the BUMD budget comes from the community, so the public has the right to know and participate in supervising its use.
"The BUMD budget comes from the community, so people should also be given space and can participate in supervising it," he added.
Furthermore, Trubus assessed that transparency in governance is the key so that the public can participate in monitoring and providing input actively so that this can increase public confidence in regional financial institutions.

"BUMD, especially Bank DKI, can emulate the governance monitoring and transparency system implemented such as other large banks or banks located in BUMN. The practices of both the bank can be adopted to strengthen accountability and good governance, in increasing supervision and transparency to the public," he explained.
Through measures such as internal reform and improvement of the surveillance system, he said, it is hoped that Bank DKI can strengthen performance and maintain accountability as a financial institution that manages public funds.
