Launching IFEX 2026, HIMKI Boss: Symbol Of Indonesian Export Transformation

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Furniture and Crafts Industry Association (HIMKI) together with Dyandra Promosindo officially launched the Indonesia International Furniture Expo (IFEX) 2026 exhibition at the Auditorium of the Ministry of Trade, Jakarta, today.

The event will be held at ICE BSD, Tangerang, Banten, on March 5-8, 2026.

Chairman of HIMKI Abdul Sobur said that holding IFEX 2026 was not just an exhibition, but a symbol of Indonesia's export transformation.

"This exhibition can also bring foreign exchange to the state," said Sobur in a written statement, Wednesday, May 21.

To achieve this, said Sobur, his party has also made a number of efforts, such as opening access to the markets of South Asia, the Middle East, East Africa, Eastern Europe, and Latin America.

"In some countries such as Kazakhstan, Kenya and the United Arab Emirates, HIMKI has started promising trade and buyer-match missions," he said.

In addition, Sobur said, HIMKI has also strengthened its digital approach. Meanwhile, together with strategic partners, he said, HIMKI is exploring the integration of SME products to global B2B e-commerce platforms, such as Alibaba, Faire and Archiproducts.

"So that Indonesian furniture can reach the world from small production centers," said Sobur.

Therefore, Sobur invites the government, business actors, academics to logistics partners and financing to collaborate to make IFEX 2026 a success.

"Let's create strong, diversified and sustainable non-oil and gas exports. Because for HIMKI rising from a crisis is not an option, but a must. And IFEX 2026 is a momentum for a common revival," he concluded.

With an expansion of the exhibition area of up to 85,000 square meters, IFEX 2026 will present a larger capacity to accommodate participants from all over Indonesia. This expansion not only provides physical space, but also becomes a symbol of the readiness of the national furniture and handicraft industry to grow bigger and reach wide.

The leading facilities, such as free shuttle buses and the Hosted Buyers program, which has been the added value of IFEX, will remain available with improved service quality. Hosted Buyers from various countries will be here again to explore opportunities for direct cooperation with Indonesian furniture producers to create real and long-term business transactions.
