XREAL 'Project Aura' Will Be The Second Android XR Headset

JAKARTA - Android XR will debut through Samsung's "Project Moohan" headset, but now we have the first picture of the second choice, namely XREAL's Project Aura.

Announced at the same time as Google's agreement with Warby Parker on Google I/O 2025 this week, XREAL will launch the Android XR headset. This Project Aura' headset will be an optical see-through' device, which relies on XREAL's experience in building light XR hardware.

There are still not many details to be disclosed about the features Aura will bring, but in terms of design, this device looks quite compact. XREAL stated that this headset will use the Snapdragon XR chipset.

The partnership also includes Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., which presents leading innovations in hardware, silicon, and software to build the next wave of XR experience. Project Aura takes advantage of XREAL's track record in lightweight XR hardware, Android XR software stacks, and Snapdragonget XR chipsets from Qualcomm optimized for spatial computing," XREAL said.

The company added that Project Aura will be introduced in more detail in June at the Augmented World Expo, an annual event that this year will take place from June 10 to 12 in Long Beach, California. Although there is no information regarding the release date yet, XREAL said it would share more information by the end of this year, following an announcement in June.
