BNN Explores Allegations Of TNI Retirement Involvement Related To 25 Kg Of Crystal Methamphetamine Worth IDR 50 Billion In Johar Baru

The head of the National Narcotics Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BNN RI), Komjen Pol Martinus Hukom, stated that his party was still investigating the status of one of the perpetrators arrested in the 25 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine raid case in Johar Baru, Central Jakarta.

The perpetrator with the initials YS claimed to be a retired member of the Indonesian Army. However, BNN has not been able to confirm the truth of the claim.

"We are still investigating whether he is a retired or actually fired. Currently, he is still in the verification process," Komjen Martinus told reporters on Tuesday night, May 21.

During the raid, officers found a number of items that corroborated the suspicion that YS had been a member of the TNI. On the wall of his house was displayed a photo of YS wearing a complete official uniform. In addition, there is also a wall clock with a logo and the writing of one of the TNI units.

"We will study it deeper. Hopefully this is wrong. I hope all state officials have high moral standards," said Martinus.

Previously, it was reported that the Indonesian National Narcotics Agency raided YS's house on Jalan Tanah Tinggi, Johar Baru, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday night, May 20. From the results of the raid, BNN confiscated 25 kilograms of methamphetamine which is estimated to be worth around Rp. 50 billion.

During the operation, two perpetrators with the initials YS and ZN were arrested. One of them, YS, is said to be a retired TNI, although the status is still under investigation by the authorities.
