Jokowi Scheduled For Ijazah Clarification At Bareskrim Today
The 7th President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is scheduled to attend the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police on Tuesday, May 20, to provide clarification regarding educational diplomas that were reported to be fake by the Head of the Ulama and Activists Defenders Team (TPUA), Eggi Sudjana.
The Director of General Crimes (Dirtipidum) of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, Brigadier General Djuhandhani Rahardjo Puro, confirmed the summons.
"We invite Mr. Jokowi to clarify today, and until this morning it was confirmed that he was present at 10 o'clock at the Criminal Investigation Unit," said Djuhandhani in his statement, Tuesday morning.
Previously, Jokowi's team of attorneys had submitted original documents in the form of high school diplomas (SMA) and university diplomas to investigators from the Directorate of General Crimes at Bareskrim Polri on Friday.
Jokowi's lawyer, Yakup Hasibuan, said that the handover was a form of his client's full support for the investigation process carried out by the police. He emphasized that all documents had been submitted for verification purposes and forensic laboratory tests.
"We have submitted everything to the Criminal Investigation Department for follow-up and forensic laboratory tests," said Yakup.
In the process of submitting documents, there were also representatives of Jokowi's family, namely Wahyudi Andrianto "adik" from Iriana Jokowi, as well as Jokowi's aide, Kompol Syarif Muhammad Fitriansyah. Yakup explained that the presence of family and aides shows the importance of the document while ensuring its authenticity.

This step was taken following a report submitted by Eggi Sudjana to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, who suspected Jokowi's bachelor's diploma was fake. However, the Palace and legal counsel considered the accusation baseless.
Jokowi's presence today marks the seriousness of his party in responding to these allegations legally and openly in front of investigators.
