Today's Massive Ojol Demo, 2,554 Joint Personnel Deployed In Jakarta
JAKARTA - Thousands of online motorcycle taxi drivers (ojol) will hold a massive demonstration in Jakarta today, Tuesday, May 20.
This action is known as a mass offbid action and is a form of protest against the applicator's policy which is considered detrimental to driver-partners.
To anticipate potential disturbances in security and congestion, 2,554 joint personnel were deployed to a number of strategic locations in Jakarta.
"For security personnel as many as 2,554 personnel," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Ade Ary Syam in his statement.
The details of the personnel strength include 1,913 personnel from Polda Metro Jaya, 230 personnel from the Central Jakarta Metro Police, 320 from elements of the TNI, and 91 from local governments.
They will be deployed to four main sectors that are locations prone to mass concentration.
The largest security is carried out in the Monas area with 1,080 personnel. Meanwhile, the HI Roundabout area and the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) will be secured by 285 personnel.
Around the DPR/MPR building, as many as 989 personnel were alerted, and 200 Ditlantas personnel were on duty specifically for traffic regulation.
Today's Jakarta online motorcycle taxi demonstrations (ojol) will be centered in three main locations, namely the Merdeka Palace, the Ministry of Transportation, and the DPR/MPR building.

Online motorcycle taxi drivers (ojol) are planned to start their action at 13.00 WIB. In this action, they will also offbid or stop services en masse as a form of collective protest.
During the online motorcycle taxi demonstration (ojol), the police appealed to the public to avoid these areas for the sake of smoothing activities and reducing the potential for traffic jams.
