SERANG A woman from Pontianak with the initials LA (43) was sentenced to imprisonment for two years and six months for claiming to be a member of the Presidential Security Forces (Paspampres) and trying to deceive the wife of the Minister of Villages for Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Mendes PDTT), Ratu Rachmatu Zakiyah.
The Banten Prosecutor's Office, Mulyana, stated that LA was proven to have made and used fake letters to trick a number of regional heads, including Ratu Zakiyah, who is also the elected Serang Regent.
"Demanding that the Panel of Judges of the Serang District Court decide that the defendant LA is legally and convincingly proven guilty of committing a criminal act by intentionally making a fake letter," Mulyana said in a trial reading the charges, Monday, May 19.
Prosecutors stated that LA violated Article 263 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code concerning letter forgery. The trial was chaired by the Chief Justice of the Panel of Judges, Galih Dewi Inanti Akhmad.
Mulyana said the aggravating thing was the defendant's act that disturbed the community. Meanwhile, what mitigating it was LA's cooperative attitude during the legal process and his confession that regretted his actions.
During the trial, LA, who was not accompanied by legal counsel, asked for leniency on the grounds of becoming the backbone of the family.
'Ask for relief, Your Majesty. My first child is 24 years old, can't speak,' said LA while crying in the courtroom.
In the previous indictment, it was stated that LA and her husband lived in a rented house in Kalimiring Village, Kaligandung Village, Serang District.
On January 17, 2025, LA ordered her husband to make a fake letter with the Command of Paspampres Group A, complete with a logo and command number: Sprint 974/XII/2024 dated December 27, 2024.
