10-Year-Old Child Victims Of Persecution To Burn In Situbondo Referred To Jember

SITUBONDO - Director of Regional General Hospital (RSUD) dr. AbdoerRahem Situbondo, dr. Roekmy Prabarini Ariome stated that the condition of a 10-year-old child with the initials AQ who was a victim of alleged abuse had begun to improve after receiving treatment.

"The condition of the patient is now improving, the burns on his face and his body have started to dry up, including the swelling has also begun to shrink," said Dr. Roekmy as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 19.

According to dr. Roekmy, the child with the initials AQ has undergone surgery twice while being treated at a hospital owned by the local government, and currently the burns on his face and several parts of his body have started to stabilize.

Since the last six days, the victim of alleged abuse by several of her peers has undergone medical treatment at dr. AbdoerRahem Situbondo Hospital.

Although currently the condition of the child has begun to improve, the patient was referred to Dr. Soebandi Jember Hospital to ensure that further treatment is carried out optimally.

"The decision to refer to this burn patient ensures that further treatment is carried out optimally by a team of plastic surgeons (at dr. Soebandi Jember Hospital)," said Roekmy.

In addition, the consideration of referrals to dr. Soebandi Jember Hospital was carried out because the victim was still a child and considered long-term care.

Previously, the police had pre-reconstructed on Tuesday (13/5) to determine the cause of the burning of the victim, including confiscating a number of supporting evidence at the scene.

From the results of pre-reconstruction and based on the testimony of witnesses, initially the victim played with his peers totaling three people looking for fish in the river.

After getting caught by fish, the victim and three of his friends were followed by another friend to burn caught fish using a spirit fluid.

When burning fish, one of his friends constantly pours spirit fluid into the fire with the intention that the fire does not extinguish.

However, when pouring the spirit liquid it hit the victim's face, shoulders, and chest, causing the victim to burn in the face, chest and stomach and hands.
