Obscene Doctors In Garut Experience Mental Disorders, Legal Process Continues
Garut Police said that the results of the examination by a team of psychiatrists concluded that the suspected obstetrician who was suspected of committing obscene acts against his patient in Garut Regency, West Java, had a bipolar affective mental disorder.
"The result is that it has bipolar affect," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Garut Police, AKP Joko Prihatin, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, May 19.
The suspect with the initials MSF (33) was reported in connection with a sexual harassment case against a number of his patients who were pregnant women.
The police have processed the suspect, not only collecting evidence and witness statements, but also examining his mental condition by a team of psychiatrists issued by the Sartika Asih Police Hospital, Bandung.
Even though the suspect suffered from this mental disorder, the legal process continues to account for his actions, which are currently being submitted to the Garut District Attorney.
"In conclusion, the examination is like that, the suspect can be held accountable for his actions," he said.
The files submitted to the Garut Kejari were also accompanied by evidence of files on the results of the examination of his mental condition, in addition to other evidence that had been collected by the police.
After submitting the file, the Garut Kejari then carried out a process to prepare for the trial of the MSF suspect at the Garut District Court.
"We have sent the first phase file to the Garut District Attorney," he said.

Previously, the obstetrician was reported to have sexually harassed his practice room at a clinic in the Garut City area, and there were other acts outside the clinic with the victim being a patient.
The Regional Office of the Ministry of Human Rights of West Java Province said that there were nine victims of obstetrician sexual abuse in Garut Regency whose victims currently received protection during the legal process and their rights as women.
