Mendikbudristek Nadiem Makarim As A Suspect, His Case Is Processed By The Metro Police

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya is handling a case of alleged forgery of a decision letter (SK) for a higher education operational permit that has the name of the Minister of Education and Culture-Research and Technology Nadiem Makarim.

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus said that the reported party in the case is currently a suspect.

"The reported cases of the Ministry of Education and Culture are suspects," said Yusri as quoted by Antara, Friday, April 30.

Yusri explained that the Polda Metro Jaya received the report submitted by the Legal Bureau of the Ministry of Education and Culture-Research and Technology on 17 February with the reported initials S.

"The reported party is on behalf of S," he said.

The case was reported on suspicion of document forgery as stated in Article 263 of the Criminal Code Paragraph 1 and 2 or Article 93 in conjunction with Article 60 Paragraph 2 of Law Number 12 of 2012 concerning Higher Education.

Previously, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) found private universities (PTS) in Banten that were suspected of having falsified higher education operational permits (SK).

"PTS with these fake permits was in East Java, then moved to Banten," said Secretary General of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture, Paristiyanti Nurwadani, in a media briefing in Jakarta, Thursday, April 29.

The PTS is Painan University, located in Tangerang, Banten. The university, he continued, had violated the provisions of Law / 2012 on Higher Education.

A total of five operational permit decrees that are suspected of being fake, namely the Minister of Education and Culture's decree regarding the permit to change the name and location of one of the PTS located in East Java to Banten.

Then the Minister of Education and Culture Decree regarding the permit to open an accounting study program (undergraduate) at PTS as referred to in point one, the Minister of Education and Culture's Decree regarding the permit to open a notary study program (master) at one of the private universities in Banten.

Furthermore, the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture regarding the permit for the Law Science Study Program (doctorate) at PTS as referred to in point two and the Minister of Education and Culture's Decree regarding the permit to merge (two) high schools into universities in Banten. The five decrees are for three PTS which are mutually affiliated with each other.
