Two South Jakarta Residents Arrested While Stealing Used Transformers At The LAA Substation, Manggarai Station
JAKARTA - Two used transformer thieves at the former Upper Stream Electricity Substation (LAA) Manggarai Station were arrested by Polsuska, Pamrawan, and PKD Manggarai Station.
The two perpetrators named Zulfikar (46) and Muhammad Ilham (37) were arrested while carrying out the theft.
"There are four perpetrators who are dismantling the transformer box. Two perpetrators have been arrested, while the other two are still being chased," said KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Public Relations Manager, Ixfan Hendriwintoko when confirmed, Monday, May 19.
In addition, one of the perpetrators arrested had fought back and injured the officer. Luckily, the situation was controlled.
Furthermore, the two residents of Manggarai, South Jakarta were immediately secured to the Tebet Police.

Officers also confiscated evidence in the form of generator transformer coils, crowbars, British keys, saws, and cut scissors.
It was later discovered that the used transformer belonged to the company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Operational Area (KAI Daop) 1 Jakarta.
The arrests were made after reports from the LAA Unit officers regarding suspicious activity in the substation area that was no longer operating.
Regarding the theft incident, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta continues to increase routine surveillance and patrols in all strategic areas, especially in inactive assets, but it is still the responsibility of security. Meanwhile, the case is handled by the Tebet Police.
