Mohamed Salah Asks Supporters To Give Trent Alexander-Arnold A Deserved Goodbye Greetings

Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah has asked supporters not to ridicule his teammate, Trent Alexander-Arnold, in the club's remaining game this season.

He confirmed that the defender deserved a proper goodbye before he left Anfield this summer.

Alexander-Arnold has been ridiculed by several supporters after being sent off the bench in a 2-2 draw against Arsenal last weekend, after he confirmed his intention to leave Anfield at the end of the season.

The 26-year-old is expected to join Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer.

Several sources spoke to ESPN that Los Blancos wanted the right-back to join on time to play in the 2025 Club World Cup this summer.

However, Salah does not believe Alexander-Arnold should be criticized for his decision to seek new challenges beyond Merseyside.

Salah also felt sad about the reaction his teammates received against Arsenal.

"Of course. I was surprised because that's not the way we reacted as Liverpool supporters."

"We shouldn't react like this to anyone. We always respect the people who come here even though it's only been six months."

"Imagine someone who has given everything for 20 years. It shouldn't be like this."

"I hope that will change in the next game--Brighton or the last game of the season (Crystal Palace)--because he deserves a breakup," Salah told Sky Sports.

Salah has spent most of the season amid speculation about his own future.

The 32-year-old finally signed a contract extension two months ago.

However, the Egyptian said he understood why Alexander-Arnold chose to leave the club he had been defending since he was six years old.

"That was his decision. I know 20 years at the club is very difficult. People think it's easy to make decisions and stay. No, no."

"I don't want to talk much to him because I want him to be in my team, but I understand."

"I will miss him very much. Yesterday I told him not to look into my eyes when separated because I really love him."

"He deserves the best parting when he leaves the club. He has done a lot for the city and the club."

"He may be (one of) the best players in club history. He needs a new challenge. He spoke to me about it. That was his decision, for sure," Salah said.

Mohamed Salah further strongly supports Alexander-Arnold's decision to look for other challenges given his young age.

"He is 26 years old and has won the league title twice. What else can he do?"

"He needs to change and challenge himself. People don't know much about it, but he has been at the club for 20 years."

"It's really hard mentally for someone to be at the club for 20 years. Yes, it's a place you love."

"I love that place. However, going to the same place every day can make you mentally depressed."

"I really wish him all the best. I will always be with him."

"The supporters have been rude to him. He does not deserve that because he has given everything to the supporters," said Salah.
