Deputy Minister Of Youth And Sports Leads A Meeting To Discuss Preparations For The Preparation Of New Perpes

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports (Wamenpora), Taufik Hidayat, chaired a coordination meeting (rakor) across Ministries/Institutions related to preparations for the preparation of a new Presidential Regulation (Perpres) regarding youth service programs.

The Presidential Regulation in question is Number 43 of 2022 concerning Strategic Coordination of the Cross-Sector of Youth Services, which includes the Attachment of the National Action Plan (RAN) for Youth Services.

"This forum is the first step to unite understanding, strengthen synergies, and formulate cross-sectoral policy directions in youth services," said Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Taufik on Friday, May 16, 2025.

The meeting was attended by 58 Ministries and Institutions in total. This collaboration is because youth is a cross-sectoral issue that is impossible for the Ministry of Youth and Sports to carry out alone.

Deputy for Youth Services at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Yohan, said that in order to be able to carry out various programs related to youth, Kemenpora must invite collaboration with other Ministries/Institutions, regions, and other stakeholders.

"The Menpora is the coordinator for youth development. The Ministry of Youth and Sports is coordinating with other Ministries/Institutions to carry out this youth service," said Yohan.

This coordination meeting accommodates all inputs to prepare for the next step. The big target is to improve the quality of youth towards Indonesia Gold 2045.

Yohan said that youth need to be prepared from now on so that later when Indonesia reaches a century old, they are expected to become leaders.

"The impact, if we don't succeed today, especially in the face of a demographic bonus, will be a disaster. Youths are not upgraded in quality to be competitive," he said.

Law Number 40 of 2009 concerning Youth asserts that youth are Indonesian citizens aged 16 to 30 years of an energy-filled life period and the potential to bring real change in society.

For this reason, the Presidential Regulation which will be drawn up later must be able to produce a presidential regulation that is oriented towards the future, such as Asta Cita and futuristics for the next 15. 20, or 30 years.
