JCI On Thursday Closed Down 3.14 Percent To 4,480.61 Level

JAKARTA - The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) closed significantly lower on trading Thursday, April 16. JCI closed down 3.14 percent or 145.30 points to 4,480.61.

In closing the trade, there were 100 stocks rising, 308 stocks weakening, and 126 stocks stagnating. The trading volume was recorded at 6.72 billion shares and transacted at 6.54 trillion.

Binaartha Sekuritas analyst, M. Nafan Aji Gustama said, from domestic, negative sentiment came from the Indonesian trade balance which experienced a surplus of around US $ 740 million, but it was still below consensus expectations which projected in the range of US $ 760 million-800 million.

"On the other hand, the news of car sales data as of March which fell 15 percent is also a negative sentiment," Nafan told VOI.

Meanwhile, global sentiment is still related to the COVID-19 pandemic. "Even the IMF is projecting a global economic recession this year," Nafan said.

This afternoon, stocks that are among the top gainers include, PT Bumi Benowo Sukses Sejahtera Tbk (BBSS) which rose 34.57 percent to IDR218, PT Borneo Olah Sarana Sukses Tbk (BOSS) which gained 34.41 percent to IDR125. , and PT Bank China Construction Bank Indonesia Tbk (MCOR) which strengthened 34.12 percent to Rp114.

Meanwhile, stocks that are among the top losers include PT Terregra Asia Energy Tbk (TGRA) which fell 6.98 percent to Rp80, PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Tbk (CPIN) which fell 6.97 percent to Rp4,140, and PT Adaro Energy Tbk (ADRO), which fell 6.70 percent to Rp975.
