Foreign Minister Sugiono: Azerbaijan Can Be A Partner In Supporting National Energy Resilience

JAKARTA - Azerbaijan can become a partner in supporting national energy security, given its potential, said Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono.

This was conveyed by Foreign Minister Sugiono when receiving an honorary visit from the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Indonesia Ramil Rzayev Abil Oglu at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Friday.

In this meeting, Foreign Minister Sugiono and Ambassador Ramil discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields, especially in the economic sector such as energy, trade and investment cooperation.

In particular, Foreign Minister Sugiono encouraged the strengthening of collaboration in the energy sector, given the great potential of Azerbaijan in the oil and gas sector.

" Azerbaijan can be an important partner of Indonesia in supporting national energy security," said Foreign Minister Sugiono, in a statement from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as quoted on Saturday, May 17.

Related to this, the Indonesian Foreign Minister encouraged cooperation between Pertamina and BUMN Migas Azerbaijan (SOCAR).

The Indonesian Foreign Minister also encouraged that the bilateral and inter-governmental mechanisms between high-ranking officials between the two countries could continue to be improved, in order to map other potential collaborations that could be collaborated.

In addition, close cooperation between the Parliaments of the two countries is also a means of strengthening bilateral relations.

Azerbaijan itself is one of Indonesia's important partners who can bridge Asia and Europe. Therefore, the meeting between the Indonesian Foreign Minister and the Ambassador of Azerbaijan shows the commitment to increase bilateral cooperation between the two countries, especially to explore the potential for new cooperation in fields that are the advantages of each country.
