Government Targets 80,000 Cooperatives Of Red And White Villages To Operate October 28
JAKARTA - The Red and White Village Cooperative Task Force (Satgas) targets 80,000 village cooperatives to be formed and operate no later than October 28, 2025.
In the coordination meeting of the Red and White Kopdes Task Force at the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs Office, the government also determined several deadlines that must be met until the cooperatives are officially established.
"We set a target for the completion of special village deliberations or rumors throughout the village on May 31, 2025," said the Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs who is also the Head of the Red and White Kopdes Task Force, Zulkifli Hasan, quoting Antara.
Furthermore, the process of legalizing and registering cooperatives to the Ministry of Law is targeted for completion on June 30, 2025, to ensure the existence and operation of cooperatives has a strong legal basis.
Then, on Cooperative Day, July 12, 2025, the official launch of the formation of the Red and White Village Cooperative will be carried out.
Zulkifli further explained that the urgency of forming the Red and White Kopdes was large and fast, as well as the involvement of various ministries and institutions aimed at growing the village economy.
"If the village economy is built, we can absorb more than 2 million workers, provide hope for village youth so that they no longer need to monitor," he said.
Furthermore, he said that this initiative also aims to cut long supply chains in the distribution of basic necessities. With cooperatives in the village, it is hoped that producers and consumers in the village can connect more efficiently, cut costs and distribution times.

In addition, the existence of cooperatives is expected to eradicate the practice of illegal online loans (pinjol), moneylenders, and middlemen in the village.
According to him, another advantage of the formation of the Red and White Kopdes is to provide direct access for remote villages to economic centers, such as banks, producers, and State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN).
"This will provide broad access for villages. I hope the village economy can grow, so that districts, provinces, and finally Indonesia will become more advanced."
To date, 16,700 villages have completed special village meetings in the context of establishing the Red and White Kopdes.
