Alleged Elimination Of IDR 5 Trillion At PSN, Head Of Cilegon Chamber Of Commerce And Industry Examined
SERANG - Head of the Cilegon Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Muhamad Salim, underwent an examination by Banten Police investigators regarding the alleged burglary of PT Chandra Asri's national strategic project (PSN) in Cilegon.
The examination was carried out following the circulation of information stating that there was a request for a project allotment of IDR 5 trillion without going through the official auction mechanism.
Information circulating said that a number of parties allegedly asked for the distribution of work to project implementers by involving members of the Cilegon Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Allegations of this practice sparked concerns about the creation of an unhealthy investment climate in the strategic industrial area.
The Head of Public Relations of the Banten Police, Kombes Pol Didik Hariyanto, confirmed the examination of Muhamad Salim. He also stated that his party had formed a special team to investigate the allegations.
"We are currently investigating this case thoroughly," said Didik when confirmed, Thursday, May 15.
The factory expansion project of PT Chandra Asri Alkali, a subsidiary of PT Chandra Asri Pacific, is part of the National Strategic Project with an investment value of IDR 15 trillion.
The project, which is located in the Cilegon Estate Industrial Estate, is expected to be the driving force for economic growth in Banten Province.
However, the emergence of this alleged burglary case is considered to have the potential to disrupt the smooth running of the project and reduce investor interest in investing in the region.
