205 Grand Action Demo, Ojol Driver Turn Off The 20 May Application
JAKARTA - Online motorcycle taxi drivers (ojol) will turn off the application and hold massive simultaneous demonstrations on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, as a form of protest against applicators suspected of violating regulations.
"Garda Indonesia as an ojol driver association has apologized to the citizens of Jakarta and the Jabodetabek agglomeration because on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, the city of Jakarta will be invaded by a combined 2-wheeled and 4-wheeled online motorcycle taxi driver in the context of a grand demonstration and a reunion of the aspirations of the 205 grand action," said Chairman of the Indonesian Guard Raden Igun Wicaksono as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, May 15.
He said the action would be followed by ojol drivers and online taxis from various regions, including East Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, Cirebon, to Palembang, Lampung, and the Banten Raya area.
The grand action of 205 which will take place from 13.00 to completion will be centered at the Merdeka Palace, the Ministry of Transportation and the DPR RI Building, so that it has the potential to paralyze some of Jakarta due to long traffic jams on a number of roads.
Raden also apologized if the community was stuck in traffic and activities were disrupted, and appealed to road users to adjust the time to pass to avoid traffic congestion.
"We ask the public to use the road around the locations of the 205 grand action to adjust the passing hours so they don't get stuck in traffic jams," he said.
He said that on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, there would be several alliances participating, including APOB, GOGRABBER, TEKAB, SAKOI and GEPPAK, the organization of the original Son and Daughter Movement of Kalimantan.
The 205 action is expected to take place simultaneously in almost all cities of Indonesia, involving hundreds of thousands of massive two-wheeled and four-wheeled online drivers.
Around 500,000 drivers will be involved, either through direct action or by turning off the application, with the main focus in Medan, Palembang, Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Surakarta, Surabaya, Balikpapan, Makassar, Manado, and Ambon.
He hopes that the government can respond to the disappointment of two-wheeled and four-wheeled online drivers who feel they have not received attention to alleged violations of regulations by a number of applicators. The regulation in question is the Minister of Transportation Decree Number 1001 of 2022, related to the maximum limit on the application of 20 percent, but so far the app is suspected of cutting the application up to 50 percent.

He emphasized that his party would take firm steps against applicators who are considered to have violated regulations, because since 2022 online drivers have been patient but have not received adequate attention.
In addition to demonstrations, Garda and the driver community will also hold an action to turn off mass applications or offbids, as a form of conveying aspirations to policies that are deemed not to be in favor.
Offbid action on May 20, 2025 is estimated to have an impact on application services, so that people are advised to understand this step as an effort to encourage the overall improvement of the online transportation ecosystem.
