Former Minister Of Agriculture SYL Only 3 Times Cicil Fines And Replacement Money
JAKARTA - Former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL is still paying fines and replacement money that is being knocked by the court.
Meanwhile, Syahrul was sentenced to 12 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 500 million for being proven to extort employees from the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) and receiving gratuities.
He is also required to pay compensation of Rp44,269,777,204 and 30 thousand US dollars or equivalent to Rp496 million based on the current exchange rate.
"Until now, the KPK is also still receiving several payments, some of which are fines or replacement money in the case," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, quoted on Thursday, May 15.
Budi detailed that SYL had only paid a fine of Rp. 100 million out of a total of Rp. 500 million which he had to pay.
Meanwhile, the replacement money has been paid in three installments. First, Syahrul paid from evidence in the form of denominations in rupiah in the form of Rp6,612,519,633 and a foreign exchange of 30 thousand dollars.
Then the second installment was deposited when SYL underwent a trial worth Rp. 1,476,205,900.
The third installment was handed over from evidence of foreign exchange which was converted into rupiah worth Rp. 19,301,941,500.
"There are several other items that have not been confiscated or have not been confiscated by the KPK because they are still needed in the process of handling other cases, namely money laundering," said Budi.
As previously reported, the KPK has sent former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL to Sukamiskin Prison, Bandung. There, he will spend a sentence of 12 years.
