TNI AD Examines 25 Soldiers Related To The Ammunition Explosion In Garut.
Head of the Army Information Service Brigadier General Wahyu Yudhayana said the investigation team had examined 25 soldiers in connection with the ammunition explosion case that resulted in dozens of casualties in Garut, West Java.
"The investigation team has asked for statements from several witnesses. From the community there are 21 people and elements of the TNI 25 people," Wahyu said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 14.
Not only examining witnesses, Wahyu said the investigation team had also collected several pieces of evidence at the location of the ammunition explosion, Sagara Village, Cibalong District, Garut Regency.
Later, the investigation team will match the results of the testimony of witnesses and research on evidence to find the main cause of the ammunition explosion incident.
The testimony of the witness and evidence will also reveal the reasons for the entry of a number of civilians into the area of destruction of TNI AD ammunition.
Until now, Wahyu has not been able to explain the extent of the investigations that have been carried out by the TNI ranks.
Previously, Kadispenad Brigadier General Wahyu Yudhayana said the explosion occurred when the Indonesian Army carried out the destruction of ammunition by the ranks of the TNI AD Ammunition Center III Warehouse in Sagara Village, Cibalong District, Garut Regency, West Java, Monday (12/5) at 09.30 WIB.
"At the beginning of the activity, procedurally there were checks on personnel and related to the location of the explosion. Everything was declared safe," said Wahyu.
The personnel then built two wells to put ammunition belonging to the Indonesian Army which would be destroyed.
After the hole was created, the ammunition was put in which it would be destroyed, then the hole was detonated by TNI AD personnel using a detonationr.
"The explosion in these two wells went perfectly in a safe condition," Wahyu explained.
